About usWelcome to Yellow Dog Glass. Since starting this website in 2006 many exciting things have happened. I have been working with glass since 1998. For the past three years, having previously taught workshops in my own studio, I have been teaching the class schedule at Warm Glass UK. The studio at Wrington, near Bristol, is a wonderful teaching space. It's also great to teach a group of eight students and have access to so many different materials and techniques. I have been priviledged to assist many of the great masterclass artists that have come to the UK. My learning and teaching contiunes, and now with the launch of the Adjustabail range, designed for me by my husband Caryl, another door opens. It is the culmination of three years intermittent nagging and gentle reminding. 'If I need these - other glass artists need them too...let's get it manufactured'. Finally we have. Having gone through a long process of design protection and manufacturing processes to find the most suitable means of production they finally are here. My daughter Nina, now 18, is at University in London studying Biology, and Josh is here working in his studio producing wonderful flameworked borosilicate marbles and pendants, having also set up his own website selling borosilicate glass and tools www.elementsglass.co.uk. In 2012, my teaching at Warm Glass continues, wonderful masterclasses to come, and I will turn my own practice towards creating bespoke light fittings - time permitting! Teaching remains a priority. I love to introduce people to the therapeutic, mind boggling and uplifting practice of creating glass art in the kiln. Opening the kiln is the best feeling ever - and enabling others to enjoy it is my passion. Please contact me if you have any glass realated questions and I will endeavour to help you or point you in the direction of someone who can. Finally, I always recommend to anyone starting out in glass that they join the Contemporary Glass Society. Being an artist can sometimes be a little lonely, so network! The CGS is a great way to get involved with regular meetings, hook up with someone near you that makes glass - and Facebook also has a great glass community. See you there!
